Mikaila Cosman, M.S.W, R.S.W (she/her)
Registered Social Worker
Education: Master of Social Work Wilfrid Laurier University (2023)
Experience: I am entering the field with over 10 years of experience working with children and youth in a variety of capacities. I have two years of direct counselling experience with children and youth who are navigating difficult emotions around divorce and separation, self-confidence, family and peer relationships, and grief and loss.
Areas of Specialty: As a child and family therapist, I work with children and youth to identify and understand their emotions, build on existing coping mechanisms and expand relationship building skills.
Personal Philosophy: Drawing from a knowledge base of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as other mindfulness-based therapies, I aim to provide a supportive, encouraging, and play-centered environment for children to learn, grow and heal.
