2022 Municipal Election Survey: Future of Social Services in Cambridge

In advance of the October 24th Ontario municipal election, a coalition of social service organisations in Cambridge and North Dumfries - Cambridge Food Bank, Cambridge Shelter, Family Counselling Centre of Cambridge and North Dumfries, and YWCA Cambridge - asked candidates for Cambridge city council and Regional Council to complete a short survey of questions relevant to the communities we serve.

From mental health to addictions, housing affordability, homelessness, social isolation, gender, racism and discrimination, and other social and health issues, voters want to know where candidates stand on these essential questions.

Of the 42 candidates we could find contact information for in our community, 22 responded to our survey link by the deadline. Unfortunately, due to organizational capacity, we did not have the time to survey the Cambridge candidates for School Board Trustee.

We hope the answers below will help our community make an informed decision on October 24th! For information about where and how to vote, check out the city of Cambridge’s website
