Warming Centre

The number of people currently experiencing homelessness in Waterloo Region is unprecedented. Like most communities across Canada, we are in a housing crisis.

In response to urgent needs and after an extensive search for space, the Region and Porchlight will be opening an overnight warming centre at Wesley United Church, located at 6 Cambridge Street, Cambridge. In order to align with the most acute local needs, while also ensuring safety, this location is currently serving exclusively men (male-identifying individuals).

A new Women's Emergency Shelter, operated by YWCA of Cambridge, has recently opened in Cambridge. Information about this facility can be found by calling First Connect at 519-624-9133 or by visiting the Region of Waterloo's web page on Emergency Shelters.

Porchlight provides a safe space where counselling and addictions services support the emotional well-being of people in Cambridge and North Dumfries.
